The charming and simple text has been written by Yvonne Morrison, author of The Kiwi Night Before Christmas and Kiwi Jingle Bells.
Illustrations by Jenny Cooper, who has illustrated Down in the Forest and many educational books.
This book was produced following a request from Plunket, who felt they should celebrate their centenary with something for children as well as more serious works for adults.

Yvonne Morrison was a Plunket baby and her parents, being new to the country, really appreciated the advice Plunket gave them. Yvonne worked as a scientist before becoming a primary school teacher and then a children's writer. She mainly writes educational books about science and social studies, but also trade books, two of which have topped the NZ children's bestsellers list.
Jenny Cooper is one of New Zealand's best-known illustrators. She trained at Christchurch Polytechnic and now tutors there in illustration.
