A, B Seek Colours

Author(s): Jenna Brockett

Children, first books

A waiporoporo (purple) passionfruit, a kikorangi (blue) whale and akōwhai (yellow) sunflower are just the tip of the ma (white) iceberg!

With over 350 hidden pictures to find, follow the āniwaniwa (rainbow)and see what you can discover.

A, B, Seek Colours is an engaging and educational hidden-object picture book designed here in Aotearoa for kiwi kids. Search your way through the colours of the rainbow, hunting though beautiful hand drawn pictures for the just-waiting-to-be-found ‘colour coded’ objects.... and if that’s not enough, you can learn some te reo at the same time!

Along with each A, B Seek Rainbow picture you will find a list of all the objects hidden within. All hidden objects are the colour of the page, with some obvious everyday objects (think yellow rubber duck)to the more challenging obscure inclusions (I see you, white ibis).

The objective is to find all the hidden objects, and there are two ways to play.

• The first is the ‘easy’ way. Look at the word list and find those objects hidden in the picture.

• The second way is a little harder. Look at the picture and write down a list of all the objects you can find, then compare your list with the one next to the picture.

Designed in New Zealand, with Kiwiana icons throughout.

Inclusion of te reo colour names to celebrate the Māori language.
