Ann Montague-Smith is a Principal Lecturer in Early Years at University College, Worcester, specializing in primary mathematics. While she was a primary school head teacher, she took a masters degree in Mathematical Education and Curriculum Studies. She is the author of a number of early years mathematics books for other publishers. Mandy Stanley studied at Great Yarmouth College of Art and Design, and gained a degree in fashion at Nottingham Polytechnic. She is a designer of baby toys, clothing and products, and has worked with Mothercare and Boots, as well as many other publishers. Her bold, humorous illustrations for Kingfisher's I Can series and First Word Book, First Number Book and First Shape Book show a real flair for giving young children the clarity and fun they love.
